Product Description

Perfect for festive occasions, daily worship, or simply as an elegant decorative piece, this brass diya embodies timeless beauty and enduring craftsmanship. Its intricate patterns and gleaming finish make it the centerpiece of any décor, whether traditional or contemporary. The resilient nature of brass ensures the diya's longevity, making it a cherished possession for generations to come.

In Hindu worship, lighting a diya is an essential ritual. Before starting puja, we first light dhoop (incense) and deep (lamp), offering them alongside water, flowers, and sometimes akshata (rice). After completing the puja, the aarti (offering of light) is performed using the same dhoop and deep, which then become prasad (blessed offerings).

It’s important to understand that prasad isn’t limited to food—everything offered to the deity, including dhoop and deep, becomes blessed. Typically, there are two types of puja performed daily: dhoop puja and bhog puja.

Dhoop puja involves offering incense and light to the deity, followed by aarti, which is a common and daily practice in many households. This type of puja is known as satwik puja (pure worship).
Bhog puja is when food is offered to the deity, followed by bhog aarti. This type of worship is known as rajasik puja (worship involving offerings of food).
Even when only aarti is performed with dhoop and deep, they are considered prasad after the ritual.
